Starter Grants for Clinical Lecturers - Round 16 Awardees

The Academy is delighted to announce the names of 23 Clinical Lecturers who were awarded through round 16 of the Starter Grants for Clinical Lecturers scheme. Awardees included clinicians in veterinary, human and dental medicine with a wide range of clinical specialities. We are especially delighted that two awards were made to veterinary clinicians, for the first time since the scheme was made open to this cohort in early 2016.

The Starter Grants for Clinical Lecturers scheme has now supported 369 research-active clinicians, conducting a broad spectrum of health-related research, with grants totalling nearly £10.5 million. It offer funding of up to £30,000 to cover the cost of research consumables. The grants allow research-active Clinical Lecturers to gather data to strengthen their bids for longer-term fellowships and funding.

The next round will open for applications in July 2017.

For more information on the names of the new awardees, eligibility and how to apply, please see the Academy's Starter Grants webpage.
