Sir John Walker FRS admitted as an Honorary Fellow

The Academy of Medical Sciences is delighted to announce that Sir John Walker FRS has been admitted as an Honorary Fellow. 

Sir John, who was awarded a Nobel prize alongside Paul D. Boyer and Jens C. Skou in 1997, is most famous for his research into ATP synthase. He is now the Director of the MRC Mitochondrial Biology unit in Cambridge.

Honorary Fellowships are awarded to individuals of the highest distinction. Sir John's citator, Professor Richard Perham, described his research on ATP synthase as "of outstanding importance".
