How to get involved with the FORUM

To celebrate fifteen years of our FORUM programme, we look at some of the different ways that you can get involved.

Attend one of our high profile events

Most of our FORUM events are by invitation only to ensure that we bring the right individuals together in one room, which can include Fellows and grant awardees as well as the wider research community such as industry, charities and Government. One of our open events is our flagship event, the FORUM Annual Lecture, where each year we focus on a key theme within the life sciences sector.

In recent years we have tackled a number of pressing topics, such as the ‘Mind-body interface’ in 2017, where the keynote was delivered by Professor Kevin Tracey, President and CEO The US Feinstein Institute for Medical Research, and in 2016 ‘Improving productivity in the NHS’, delivered by Dame Julie Moore, Chief Executive of University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust.

The 2018 FORUM annual lecture will be announced shortly, keep an eye on our events page to find out more and register to attend.

Join the FORUM network

Our network of FORUM donors underpin the FORUM programme. The network is formed of 39 organisations, drawn from across the breadth of the medical sciences ecosystem. Membership is diverse and ranges from large pharma and SMEs, charities and non-departmental public bodies, to universities, learned societies and AHSNs, amongst many others.

The Academy’s FORUM provides a neutral and independent platform for the network to meet and take forward national discussions on scientific opportunities, technology trends and associated strategic choices for healthcare. The discussions help to inform and influence key policy debates at a national level as part of both the FORUM programme and the Academy’s wider policy work.

We welcome new members to join our group of supporters. For more information on how your organisation can become a FORUM donor, please contact forum@acmedsci.ac.uk.

Revisit our reports

Following each FORUM meeting, we publish a high-level meeting report. You can find our reports in the FORUM reports section of our website.

Watch a meeting video

Some of our meetings are recorded or livestreamed - check out the Academy’s YouTube channel, where you can find our FORUM playlist.
