Appointment of next Vice President (International): call for nominations

Following her appointment as Academy President last year, Dame Anne Johnson vacated her former role as Vice President (International). In December, Council member, Professor Frances Brodsky FMedSci was appointed to take on this role on an interim basis until such a time that a formal process to identify a successor could take place, as is set out in Academy Regulations.

Nominations are now sought to identify a successor to this important Academy role.

The nomination process to identify the next Vice President (International) is now open. A letter from the Academy President, who chairs the Academy’s Nominations Committee (which oversees the appointment of Honorary Officers), is available on this page. Further details about the role (including information about the election process) and a nomination form are also available to download from the side of this page.

The Academy is committed to equality, diversity and inclusion and encourages a wide range of nominations for its senior decision-making roles.  Suggestions and expressions of interest are welcome from any area of the Fellowship and should be sent, in confidence, to Dame Anne Johnson at president@acmedsci.ac.uk .

Fellows wishing to discuss the role further are invited to contact Dame Anne at the earliest opportunity.

The deadline for receipt of completed nominations is 30 July 2021
Council will elect the next Vice President (International) at its October meeting.
