The future of public health research: local authority engagement

12.30, Thursday 14 September 2017

The Academy of Medical Sciences London

41 Portland Place London

On Thursday 14 September, the Academy of Medical Sciences will convene a roundtable meeting, chaired by Professor Chris Whitty CB FMedSci, of funders and local government representatives. This meeting will follow-up on discussions that took place during a workshop on ‘Future of public health research’ that the Academy convened in July 2017. The meeting aims to explore a possible new model for the generation of evidence, which will bring together local communities and academics to identify and deliver impactful public health research.

A summary of this meeting's discussions will be included in the workshop report of the 'Future of public health research'  event, which will be published shortly on the Academy's website.
