Future of public health research

17.30, Thursday 20 July 2017

The Academy, National Institute for Health Research and Faculty of Publich Health are hosting a two-day meeting on ‘The future of public health research’. It will convene senior leaders from a broad range of disciplines and sectors relevant to public health, to consider what the health of the public will be like in 20 years, based on current trajectories. The aim is to identify future health issues that could be addressed through public health measures, the associated research needs, and the stakeholders that can lead in taking these forward. The meeting will build on initial findings from NIHR’s ‘Health Futures’ 20 year forward view and the Academy of Medical Sciences’ ‘Improving the Health of the Public by 2040’ report.
