Biotechnology innovation: opportunities and challenges
In March 2009, the Academy's FORUM held a roundtable on 'Biotechnology innovation: opportunities and challenges' to discuss the steps needed to stimulate the industry and maintain a leading place on the global stage.
The meeting brought together international and national experts from a range of sectors to share perspectives on the current state of the UK biotechnology industry. The meeting took place against a backdrop of new Government initiatives, including the formation of the Office for Life Sciences, designed to maintain the UK's leading position for life sciences.
