Round 4 of Newton International Fellowships opens

We are pleased to announce a new round of Newton International Fellowships and are accepting applications from researchers in Brazil, China, India, Mexico, South Africa and Turkey.

The Academy of Medical Sciences, in partnership with the Royal Society and the British Academy, offers these fellowships to support early career international researchers from Newton Fund partner countries who are looking for a post-doctoral position in a UK research institution.

We have funded 17 awards in the three years we have delivered the scheme, totalling £1.7 million in research funding. To see some of our case studies for the Newton International Fellowships, please click here.

The fellowship provides:

  • £24,000 tax free each year for two years
  • Up to £8,000 for research expenses
  • A one-off payment of £2,000 for relocation expenses

These fellowships are available through the UK Government Newton Fund, which builds scientific and innovation partnerships with 16 partner countries to support their economic development and social welfare, and to develop their research and innovation capacity for long-term sustainable growth.

Please visit the grant scheme webpage for more details and the online grant system eGAP to apply.

Closing date for the round is 22 March 2017.
