In advance of the General Election on 8th June, the UK’s National Academies have written to Party Leaders to highlight the role of research and innovation in driving UK growth and productivity .
In the letter, the Presidents of the Academy of Medical Sciences, British Academy, Royal Academy of Engineering and Royal Society urge the next Government to send a bold, positive message that the UK is one of the best places in the world to research and innovate and ensure that the world’s brightest and best entrepreneurs and researchers - at home and abroad - can contribute their skills to Britain’s success.
