As a member of FEAM (Federation of the European Academies of Medicine) the Academy is pleased to endorse their statement on ‘Mental health policy issues’.
The report draws on discussions from a meeting held in 2009 by FEAM to review some of the critical issues in mental health. The recommendations focus on the need to: understand the role of psychosocial and biological factors in mental health; develop more effective recognition, classification, diagnosis and therapy; and share best practices within the field.
