Damaging gulf growing between teaching and research in UK universities

A report by the Academy of Medical Sciences highlights an urgent need to redress the balance between teaching and research in our Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) to maintain the UK's position as a leader in biomedical and clinical sciences. Achieving this balance is critical not only for the quality of our students, academics and HEIs, but for the strength and sustainability of the UK's overall research and education base.
