Real world evidence

00.00, Thursday 17 September 2015

On 17 September 2015, the Academy of Medical Sciences, in partnership with the Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry, held a joint workshop on ‘Real world evidence’.

The workshop brought together senior representatives from industry, academia and the regulatory sector to explore the acceptability of real world evidence on the safety, efficacy and value of drugs. In particular, participants discussed the potential contribution that real world evidence can make to regulatory and HTA decision-making, and explored concrete steps that can be taken to ensure a common understanding of when such evidence is, and is not, likely to be considered acceptable in regulatory contexts.

The agenda and full meeting report can be found below. To find out more on this area please visit the policy project page.
