Putting a spotlight on women’s health – exploring the menopause, maternal health, and future solutions to improve health outcomes

10.00, Wednesday 22 November 2023

Life Science 1, Swansea University, Swansea

Singleton Park, SA2 8PP

The next event in the Cross-Sector Programme, in partnership with Life Sciences Hub Wales, will bring together innovators and researchers across careers and fields to discuss future solutions to bridge the gap and reduce inequalities in women’s health, especially for marginalised groups.

This event will highlight the advantages of cross-sector collaboration in women's health and emphasise the need for all sectors to work together to create sustainable solutions, ultimately enhancing care quality for women across Wales, and the UK.

The event will include:

  • An introduction to the Cross-Sector Programme networking hubs and the new Cross Sector Experience Awards funding scheme.
  • An inspiring talk from Sadia Haqnawaz from The Hilda’s at Dame Hilda Lloyd Network, University of Birmingham and Baby Lifeline, sharing her story of PPI (Public Patient Involvement) to PhD.
  • A talk from Jayne Woodman, founder of The Menopause Team. Jayne also has 20+ years’ experience in HR management and she is also part-time lecturer at Swansea University.
  • An interactive session with Health & Her to show how digital applications can help women build positive lifestyle habits during perimenopause and the menopause.

  • Table discussions and networking opportunities.

  • Extended time to network with other participants to find areas of common interest and explore further connections and potential collaborations.

This event is open to all and free to attend.
