Mentoring and Leadership webinar - Alexis Hutson

13.00, Wednesday 25 March 2020

How can mentoring support your leadership development?

As leaders (at whatever level) we must constantly strive to balance our self, preferences, feelings and thoughts against the needs of the ever-changing context that we find ourselves in at work.

One of the most important ways that we can develop as a leader is to reflect on how we manage our relationships at work. Mentoring is a powerful arena to do this in. It doesn’t matter how experienced you are as a leader or how new you are to a role, there is always room for development, particularly with regards to our work-based relationships.

Mentoring supports you to strengthen your skills in:

  • Listening
  • Asking questions
  • Suspending assumptions and
  • Not jumping in to solve problems.

This webinar is open to all. It will share ideas and information about how the mentoring experience can support how you manage work-based relationships, which can help with having more productive and less confrontational conflicts and help strengthen resilience.

This webinar forms part of our suite of career development resources, which are generously supported by NIHR.
