General Election Hustings - Science, Research, Technology and Innovation

On 19 November, the Academy of Medical Sciences will be jointly hosting a public hustings event with representatives from major political parties outlining their Party’s election positions on science, research, technology and innovation policy issues, and answering questions. This event is being jointly organised by the Academy of Medical Sciences, the British Academy, the Campaign for Science and Engineering, The Foundation for Science and Technology, the Royal Academy of Engineering and the Royal Society.

Public registration to attend the hustings is now open through this webpage. The event will also be live streamed on this page from 6.30pm on Tuesday 19 November.

The event will be chaired by Pallab Ghosh, BBC Science Correspondent.

The representatives are:

  • Stephen Metcalfe - Conservative Party
  • Chi Onwurah - Labour Party
  • Sam Gyimah - Liberal Democrat Party

The Scottish National Party were also invited but were unable to provide a representative.

There will be press in attendance.
