41 Portland Place , Academy of Medical Sciences
Fellows are invited to attend a discussion dinner at the Academy featuring a talk by Professor Anita Thapar FMedSci, Professor of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Cardiff University.
Attendance costs £60 per head which includes drinks and a three-course meal. Fellows may bring one non-Fellow guest.
Anita Thapar completed medical school without ever thinking about a career in academic medicine. She had never even met a female Professor.
In this talk she will discuss her scientific and career journey and highlight how mentorship has helped shape her career and is now an important part of her work. She will also discuss how the science of what some might regard as a controversial mental health disorder (ADHD) has rapidly developed in the last few decades and how these developments have also inpacted on her journey.
