[Postponed] Clinical trials transparency workshop

9.00 – 13.00, 30 March 2020

The Academy of Medical Sciences

41 Portland Place London

Following careful consideration of government advice on the evolving coronavirus epidemic, this workshop is now postponed. Please contact the organising team for further details.

On 30 March 2020, the Academy of Medical Sciences, in partnership with the Health Research Authority (HRA), is hosting a workshop to introduce the HRA’s upcoming strategy on research transparency and to discuss how it can be implemented most effectively by the clinical research community

This workshop will draw together key stakeholders from across the sector, including clinical academics, funders, publishers and representatives from industry and the regulatory sector, to enable the clinical research community to champion research transparency.

The meeting will aim to:

  • Discuss the challenges and opportunities for implementation of the HRA clinical transparency strategy.
  • Consider how barriers to implementation can be overcome.
  • Identify the next steps for implementation of the strategy.

The meeting will be co-chaired by Professor Andrew George MBE, Non-Executive Director of the HRA and Chair of the HRA’s Research Transparency Strategy Group, and Professor Sarah Walker FMedSci, Professor of Medical Statistics and Epidemiology at University of Oxford and University College London.

The meeting will be followed by a short speech to mark the official launch of the strategy.
