The Black Women in Science (BWiS) Network is hosting 'Celebrating You' on Thursday the 20th of October to celebrate Black women in science or science-related fields. Held during Black History Month, this event will celebrate the past, present and future of Black women in science.
Tomi Akingbade, Founder of the BWIS Network said:
“We believe that, too often, Black women are overlooked and not given the 'flowers' they deserve. We want to change that! This event is an opportunity for Black women to come and feel seen and supported amongst others with similar experiences in science.”
As part of the celebration, the event will feature interactive games, networking sessions and informative displays.
This event is for those who identify as Black women and are in STEM careers or education. You do not need to be a member of the Black Women in Science Network to attend this event.
