On Monday 3 August, a call for nominations to the Academy Council was circulated to the Fellowship. Six members of Council will be completing their term of office at the AGM on 3 December:

- Professor Maria Fitzgerald FMedSci
- Professor Fiona Karet FMedSci
- Professor Andrew Lees FMedSci
- Professor Peter Weissberg FMedSci
To maintain the size of Council within the parameters set out in the Standing Orders, 4 new members will be appointed via this year's election, each serving a term of three years.
All Fellows of the Academy are eligible to stand for election to the Academy's Council except if they have just completed a period in office as an Ordinary Council Member. Further guidance notes and a nomination can be downloaded from the right-hand side of this page.
Completed nomination forms, should be returned to the Executive Director, Academy of Medical Sciences, 41 Portland Place, London W1B 1QH no later than 17:00 on Thursday 1 October 2015.
The ballot will be held on Wednesday 11 November and the results of the election will be announced at the AGM on 3 December 2015.
