This year's cohort of forty eight new Fellows were admitted to the Academy on 1 July.
As well as the admission ceremony itself, the day included presentations from four of this year's new Fellows:
`Challenging science to address the impact of cancer on people's lives' by Professor Dame Jessica Corner; `Madness, genius and the origin of the brain' by Professor Seth Grant; `Outbreak response - Ebola, MERS and SARS' by Professor Christl Donnelly and `Precision management of airways diease' by Professor Ian Pavord.
We were also joined, for their formal admission to the Academy, by three Fellows elected in 2014 who were unable to attend last year's ceremony. New Fellows attended an introductory workshop about the Academy earlier in the day followed by a mentoring development session.
Film footage from the Admissions ceremony and the new Fellows presentations will be available on the Academy website later in the month.
After the formal proceedings of the day, Fellows and their guests enjoyed a barbecue supper at the Academy's headquarters building in Portland Place.
