As a member of the Inter Academy Medical Panel (now known as the InterAcademy Partnership for Health), the umbrella organisations for national academies of medical science, the Academy is pleased to endorse the joint G8 science academies' statement on the health of women and children.
The statement calls for more active engagement of governments in efforts to achieve Millennium Development Goals 4 and 5 to reduce maternal and child mortality.
