Andrew Biankin, Regius Professor of Surgery at University of Glasgow, combines surgical practice with cancer genomics and translational medicine. He is a driving force for personalised medicine for cancer internationally and he plays leadership roles in international efforts in cancer genomics such as the International Cancer Genome Consortium, where he is focused on translating and implementing genomic data. Professor Biankin is the Chairman of the Cancer Research UK National Pancreatic Cancer Network and is developing UK-wide major initiatives in stratified medicine for cancer. His expertise in pancreatic cancer includes preclinical models, clinical research and health-care policy.
