Professor Malcolm Green is Professor of Respiratory Medicine and Vice-Principal for Postgraduate Medicine at Imperial College. He has developed physiological techniques for measuring the strength of respiratory muscles and applied these to many clinical settings. He conceived, founded and then chaired the British Lung Foundation, which has contributed many millions of pounds to respiratory research and succeeded in raising the profile of respiratory medicine nationally and internationally.
