Ian Hall is the Director of the Centre for Biomolecular Sciences at the University of Nottingham. He has, over 30 years of research, concentrated on defining the genetic basis of airway disease. Publication highlights include a series of important papers describing genetic influences on lung function, COPD and asthma. He is the co-chair of 2 international research consortia, Spirometa and UK BiLEVE, the latter overseeing the first major genotyping study to use the UK Biobank resource. He also contributes to the wider work of the health community through his contribution to the Prescribing Safety Assessment Executive group overseeing delivery of PSA to medical schools in the UK.
