Professor Cyrus Cooper is an MRC Clinical Scientist and Professor of Rheumatology at the MRC Environmental Epidemiology Unit at the University of Southampton. He has made major epidemiological contributions to the pathophysiology and prevention of osteoporosis and to the epidemiology of osteoarthritis. He works on the occupational and environmental determinants of soft tissue rheumatic disorders, important to many of us sitting in this room today, such as low back pain and upper limb pain.
