Maria Magdalena is a Senior Grants Manager within the UK Grants Team, working on our Clinical portfolio, which includes the Starter Grants for Clinical Lecturers scheme and the Clinician Scientist Fellowships.

Prior to joining the Academy, Maria worked at the Royal Society, where she managed a portfolio of Newton Fund and GCRF grant schemes.

Maria holds a degree in Biotechnology and a MSc in Industrial Biotechnology, both gained in Italy, and a PhD in Biology from the University of York. Maria has recently been elected Secretary of the Board of the Marie Curie Alumni Association (2024-26)
