Personalised psychiatry

09.00, Wednesday 06 September 2017

British Academy London

10-11 Carlton House Terrace St. James's

This small roundtable meeting, chaired by Professor Ed Bullmore FMedSci, convened senior representatives from across the mental health research and wider life sciences sector including academia, industry, primary and secondary care clinicians, commissioners and charities, amongst others, to explore scientific developments in a personalised approach to psychiatry, and its potential for implementation in the NHS. The meeting examined the evidence base for adoption of a personalised approach, and explore the scope for its adoption and implementation in clinical practice.

This event follows on from a series of joint meetings held by the Academy and NHS England to explore adoption of a stratified approach across the NHS, with three previous meetings focusing on diabetes, cardiovascular disease and severe asthma. A full meeting report will be published following the meeting.

The roundtable took place on 6 September 2017 before the FORUM Annual Lecture and was by invitation only. For further details please contact forum@acmedsci.ac.uk.
