On 7 April, Dr Trevor Mundel, President of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation’s Global Health Program, delivered the Academy’s 2014 International Health Lecture at the Academy of Medical Sciences, London. Entitled 'A scientist, an engineer, and a banker walk into a pub...the not-so-funny truth about innovation in global health', this lecture focused on how the Global Health Program is leading efforts in research and development of health solutions including vaccines, drugs and diagnostics to combat health problems that have a major impact in developing countries and receive too little attention and funding.
