Fellows are invited to nominate candidates for Honorary Fellowship. These should be individuals who do not otherwise fulfil the eligibility criteria for Academy Fellowship.
To submit nominations, Fellows are required to complete and sign the nomination form and return it to Professor Andrew Morris CBE FRSE PMedSci by emailing [email protected].
Read the President’s letter calling for nominations, and find out more about Academy Honorary Fellowship.
This year’s search will focus on:
- Contributors and influencers of policy change, who have played a significant role, fostered relationships, or led work to impact policy thinking (domestic or international) on science, medical research or health care.
- Outstanding contributions to strengthening the relationship between science and society through roles in the media or digital communications, public engagement and involvement, or the co-production of research (and particularly individuals who might be actively contributing to work to counter misinformation).
- Individuals demonstrating exceptional leadership in advancing and promoting equity, diversity and inclusion in biomedical and health research within an organisation and/or a more positive research culture in the UK (Fellows are also encouraged to think about EDI across all criteria categories as well as those individuals recognised specifically for their contributions to promoting EDI).
We are also continuing to focus on:
- Prominent leaders in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology or medical devices sectors, but who may not have the scientific achievements required for Ordinary Fellowship.
- Philanthropists who have made outstanding contributions to medical science in the public interest.
