Our next Clinical Academics in Training Annual Conference (CATAC) 2024 will take place at Leeds City Museum on Thursday 8 May 2025.
The event has now reached maximum capacity. To be added to the waiting list, click ‘Add your name to our wait list’ at the top of our registration page.
CATAC is a free cross-specialty event designed to bring together clinical academics from a range of backgrounds. The event provides clinical researchers an opportunity to present their work to peers and senior academics, and to build their professional network.
The conference is open to early-career, mid-career and senior researchers, medical students with a clinical background (such as medicine, nursing, midwifery, dentistry, veterinary sciences, physiotherapy and radiography) and anyone working in the health or life sciences sectors.
This year, CATAC will be hosted by Professor Reecha Sofat FMedSci and Professor Sheena Radford OBE FRS FMedSci. The keynote will be delivered by Professor Rosalind Smyth CBE FMedSci and Professor Dame Nicky Cullum DBE FMedSci.
What to expect
- A chance for researchers to share their work and raise their profile during oral and poster competitions.
- Networking opportunities with your peers and senior academics.
- An interactive session on Public and Patient Involvement (PPI) in research: During this session, you will hear from experts on how they have involved the public in their work, specifically focusing on underrepresented communities. There will also be time for questions and the opportunity to reflect on how you can involve the public in the work you do.
