Health, lies and videotape - British Science Festival '14

What keeps Mrs Dawson busy? How should you use a handkerchief? And would you call your children fat?

The Academy of Medical Sciences will be answering all these questions and more on 8 September at the British Science Festival 2014, Birmingham.

“Health, Lies and Videotape” will journey through the Wellcome Collection/British Film Institute archives to show some of the

best, worst and most hilarious public health films from the 20th century.

We’ll be joined by a panel of experts who will be our tour guides for the evening, helping us navigate between the past and the present day, sorting the fact from the fiction and the daft from the downright dangerous.

Tickets are available from the British Science Festival website.

This event is supported by a Wellcome Trust People Award.

This event is part of the British Science Festival 2014 taking place in Birmingham from 6-11 September. Details of all events are available online at www.britishsciencefestival.org
