Springboard awardee event 2017

On 19-20 June 2017, the Academy of Medical Sciences held a meeting for award holders of the Springboard scheme. It was attended by more than 50 new lecturers in basic biomedical research, as well as those in health social sciences and medical humanities, through the health of the public stream. Chaired by Professor Philippa Saunders FMedSci and Professor Graham Hart FMedSci, who also chaired the original selection committees, the event was a celebration of awardee achievements, a chance to upskill through workshops on mentoring, pitching ideas and building a research team, as well as an opportunity to network with each other, Academy fellows, other senior academics and funding representatives at the evening drinks reception.

There was a digital artist in attendance, who created a visual note of the event, this is also available to download on the right. Cohort photos were taken on the day - these will soon appear on the scheme pages for the Springboard-Biomedical scheme and the Springboard-Health of the Public scheme.

The next event to which the Academy’s Grants Team will invite Springboard award holders, is the Winter Science Meeting on Thursday 29 November 2018.
