-----------------------------------------------------------Do you want to know more about careers in biomedical science and academic medicine? Would you like to develop your skills, find out about funding opportunities and network with your peers?
This event will provide an opportunity for early career researchers to explore the career options available to them, develop new skills and hear about research developments in different fields. The event is open to all trainees (from Foundation Doctors to Clinician Scientists) as well as non-clinical postdoctoral researchers.
The event is co-chaired by Prof John Iredale FRSE FMedSci (Pro Vice Chancellor Health, University of Bristol) and Prof Paul Martin FMedSci (Professor of Cell Biology, University of Bristol)
The programme includes:
- Talks on research topics with Prof Maria Fitzgerald FMedSci, Prof Guy Goodwin FMedSci and Prof Graham Lord FMedSci.
- A workshop on 'pitching ideas' to funders, peers and senior colleagues.
- Discussions with major funders about the opportunities available to you.
- Structured networking.
- Keynote lecture by Prof Shoumo Bhattacharya FMedSci, University of Oxford.
