Annual Fellows Meeting 2013

The Academy’s AGM took place on 21st November and was attended by over 60 Fellows. Presentations were given by the President, the Treasurer and the Executive Director. Formal items of business were as follows:

• The minutes of the Annual General Meeting on 22 November 2012 were approved.
• It was agreed to invite Professor Bruce Alberts, Dr Donald Berwick and Professor Elizabeth Blackburn FRS to become Honorary Fellows of the Academy in 2014
• The results of the 2013 Council election were announced
• The audited accounts for 2012/13 were agreed and BDO LLP were appointed as auditors for 2013/14
• It was agreed that there would a small inflation-indexed adjustment in the Fellows’ subscription rates for 2014/15

The AGM was followed by the presention of the Foulkes Foundation Medal to Dr Akhilesh Reddy and the Jean Shanks Lecture presented by Professor Sir Mike Stratton FRS FMedSci.

The day also included the admission of Sir John Walker FRS FMedSci as an Honorary Fellow and HRH The Princess Royal as a Royal Fellow.

The day concluded with the Annual Fellows Dinner.
