The Academy and Cancer Research UK held a workshop to discuss the landscape for translation of early detection and diagnosis (EDD) research and technologies in cancer.

This workshop convened stakeholders from across EDD cancer research community in academia, industry and healthcare, as well as funders and regulators, to discuss the implications of emergent EDD research for the future of early detection and diagnosis in cancer. Attendees discussed the challenges and opportunities that these recent advances present, how the challenges might be addressed and the preparedness of the system to accommodate such technologies. This workshop was chaired by Professor Peter Johnson FMedSci, Professor of Medical Oncology, University of Southampton. A summary meeting report will be published following the meeting.
