Do you want to know more about careers in academic medicine? Would you like to develop your network of contacts and support?

This event will provide a space for clinical academic trainees to network, learn about how to get a mentor, how to attract funding, changes in the research environment as well as develop strong connections with your peers and senior academics.

The event will be chaired by Professor Ole Petersen CBE FRS FMedSci, Chair and Director of the Cardiff School of Biosciences, University of Cardiff, and is open to all trainees from Foundation Doctors to Clinician Scientists. Early career researcher with a non-clinical background are also welcome to attend. 

Speakers include:

  • Professor Julie Williams FMedSci, Chief Scientific Adviser for Wales
  • Professor Christopher Pugh FMedSci, Professor of Renal Medicine, University of Oxford
  • Professor Paul Morgan FMedSci, Professor of Immunology, Cardiff University
