Neena Modi, Professor of Neonatal Medicine at Imperial College London, has made unique contributions to children’s biomedical science through highly respected leadership, original science, research innovation, and influencing national policy. As Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health President, she led “Turning the Tide”, a major report on children’s research, and a revision of children’s research ethics guidance. She initiated development of a Children’s Research Charter endorsed by UNICEF, in which children explain how they wish to be involved in research. Professor Modi is a current member of the UK National Research Ethics Advisory Panel, and has contributed to a number of UK research policies and strategy.
