Professor Vikram Patel FMedSci has been awarded this year's Rhoda and Bernard Sarnat International Prize by the Institute of Medicine for his research on global mental health.
Professor Patel is professor of international mental health and Wellcome Trust Senior Research Fellow at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and at the Public Health Foundation of India.
He was elected as a Fellow in 2009.
