Joint AMS-IOM workshop report on health system challenges released

The Academy of Medical Sciences and US Institute of Medicine have published a report of a joint workshop on health system challenges.

In March 2014, the Academy hosted a joint meeting with the US Institute of Medicine which posed the question: ‘How do our health systems respond to evolving challenges?’.

A report capturing the discussion around this topic has now been published. The sessions, chaired by Professor Harvey V Fineberg MD PhD, President of the IOM, and Professor George Griffin FMedSci, Foreign Secretary of the Academy, explored the healthcare challenges which lie ahead and the need to help people age more healthily.

This marks the first joint report between the two organisations, and builds on a memorandum of understanding which was signed between the two Academies.
