Population physiology in the omics era: great potential with lots of pitfalls

The potential to run high throughput ‘omics’ at relatively cheap costs in large numbers of participants is revolutionising epidemiology. We now have the capability to undertake population level physiology. My talk will focus on how we might achieve the potential that this offers, whilst avoiding too many pitfalls. I will focus primarily the need to develop and use methods that ensure our findings are robust and to work in truly multi- and inter-disciplinary ways.
