Exploring research careers in industry 2015

00.00, Thursday 05 November 2015

Registration from 13:00.

Establishing a research career or collaborating with the pharmaceutical or biotech industries seems an impossible task for many early career researchers.

This event aims to break down the barriers between early career researchers and industry with practical advice, networking and inspirational stories of successful careers.

Industry representatives and academics collaborating with industry will provide details of possible career tracks and current opportunities available to clinical and non-clinical early career researchers.

The keynote talks will be given by:

  • Dr Ruth McKernan CBE FMedSci, Chief Executive, Innovate UK
  • Professor Mark Caulfield FRCP FMedSci, Chief Scientist, Genomics England

Attendees may be interested in reading a Nature blog post by Mr Luke Devey, Director of Translational Medicine, GSK, on his career in industry. Luke is a former Clinician Scientist Fellow funded by the Academy of Medical Sciences and The Health Foundation.

A draft agenda is available.

Spaces are limited, please register to attend.
