Workshop options:

Social Media & Research Impact
Are you new to media engagement and curious about the possibilities? Are you keen to promote your research? Are you the next social media sensation? This workshop aims to support researchers who want to use social media to spread their influence. Attendees will learn how to engage with social media and generate impact.

Pitching Ideas (FULLY BOOKED, NO FURTHER SPACES ARE AVAILABLE)
How can you make your presentations persuasive and engaging? Why do we remember some people’s talks many months later, but can’t recall others? How do you drive home a message, to funders, peers or senior colleagues? In this interactive workshop you will learn simple tools and approaches to deliver a compelling argument. You will discuss real-life examples to help you become a more confident and convincing speaker. No more ‘death by Powerpoint’!

Mentoring 101
What is developmental mentoring and how can a mentor help me to get where I want to be in 1, 5 or 10 years? What should I expect from an Academy mentor? In this workshop you will find out about the different types mentoring and how early career researchers can benefit from being paired with senior researchers. You will also find out about the Academy’s mentoring scheme and how to select the right mentor for you.
