Stuart Forbes is Director of the MRC Centre for Regenerative Medicine at University of Edinburgh and is a clinician scientist working at the forefront of regenerative medicine. His work has helped to define the regenerative potential of liver cells including the hepatic progenitor cell. He has a translational program of work and has developed and led clinical trials to deliver novel regenerative therapies for liver disease. His leadership is evidenced by the Directorship of the UK Regenerative Medicine Platform Hub for engineering and exploiting the stem cell niche. He has also mentored a series of trainees and clinician scientists and represents the best in UK regenerative medicine.
