Rebecca Reynolds is Professor of Metabolic Medicine at the University of Edinburgh. She is a physician scientist whose research has: given key insights into molecular and neuroendocrine pathways linking a mother’s health in pregnancy and the child’s health legacy; quantified the cardiometabolic risks to mother and offspring of obesity in pregnancy; converted these insights into clinical trials and recommendations for therapy in pregnancy; and directly impacted pregnancy outcomes. Her research spans healthcare record data-linkage through embedding experimental medicine into clinical practice with translation of research outcomes into policies and guidelines. She is a physician whose recently accelerating productivity in women’s health bridges across disciplines and translates into clinical guidelines.
