Michael Seckl is Professor of Molecular Cancer Medicine at Imperial College London. He has become the recognised international leader in the field of Gestational Trophoblastic Disease which affects 200,000 women worldwide each year. His work has shed fundamental new information about the disease behaviour, its treatment, and substantially improved survival rates. Professor Seckl has tirelessly disseminated knowledge and his contributions continue to be adopted internationally facilitating the establishment of new GTD centres across the globe. He has also developed a new national NHS service for malignant ovarian germ cell tumours and leads the EU rare gynae cancer initiative for EURACAN.
