Linda Greensmith is Head of the UCL Sobell Department of Motor Neuroscience and Movement Disorders. She is recognized and widely respected internationally for her basic and translational work on neuromuscular disorders, especially motor neuron disease. She has world-class expertise in both small animal models of disease, including in vivo electrophysiology, and in cutting edge cellular and molecular biology. She deploys these skills to understand basic mechanisms of motor neuron injury and then to develop innovative neuroprotective and regenerative approaches to therapy development. Professor Greensmith is a world expert on animal models of neurodegenerative disease, with a strong track record of translating basic science into experimental medicine studies.
