Anke Ehlers is Professor of Experimental Psychopathology at Oxford. She is an internationally renowned expert on the etiology and psychological treatment of anxiety disorders and somatic problems. She has made major contributions to the understanding and treatment of post-traumatic stress disorder, panic disorder, social phobia and atopic dermatitis, developing treatments that are highly acceptable to patients and have improved on the outcomes obtained with alternative treatments. The psychological treatment for PTSD has been successfully used to help survivors of the Omagh and London bombings and is currently taught to a large number of therapists. Anke has received international recognition for her contributions to clinical psychology and has been elected to a number of prestigious Fellowships.
