Professor Alasdair Geddes is Professor of Infection at the University of Birmingham. He performed a series of landmark studies on antimicrobial therapy, for example on the use of cephaloridine and on the combination of amoxycillin and clavulanic acid. He has provided leadership in defining the management of bacterial meningitis and pneumococcal disease.
