Pauline Williams, Senior Vice President and Head of Global Health R&D at GlaxoSmithKline, is an outstanding pharmaceutical physician who has pioneered novel drug discovery and development approaches which have been widely adopted across the sector. She is an international leader at the academic-industry interface, having created the Academic Discovery Performance Unit and Discovery Partnerships with Academia, collaborating with a global network of academic medical science on clinical development programs ranging from systemic amyloidosis to preterm labour and post-partum haemorrhage. Dr Williams is also a keen advocate for women in science, mentoring junior scientists and participating in blogs and seminars to share her diverse career experience.
