David Roblin, Chief Operating Officer at the Francis Crick Institute, is a clinician who has led some of the most significant initiatives in medical science in the UK, including substantial contributions to pharmaceutical R&D and the establishment of the Francis Crick Institute. At Pfizer he led an annual investment of £850M, with 7000 staff in the UK, Singapore, Brussels and Milan, working from R&D to commercial. Dr Roblin’s contributions to the Crick have been extraordinary. He managed the merger of the NIMR and CRUK’s London Research Institute; has coordinated the activities of the new Institute over four sites; led the creation of the institute’s corporate functions; and oversaw construction of the new laboratory.
